Freiburg or Fribourg?

Actually, both names (Freiburg and Fribourg) refer to the same capital of the Fribourg canton of Switzerland. Freiburg is the German name for the city while Fribourg comes from the French language. The population of Freiburg peaked in 1974 at 42,000 people and is now believed to be 14% less. French and German are the two official languages but most prefer to speak French rather than German.

There are also more Catholics here than members of any other religion. Eighty-two percent of the labor force belong to the service industry while 17% man the industrial industry. Others work in agriculture.
